Born in Seoul, Jeonghan grew up in South Korea's capital alongside his younger sister (born in 1999). After attending Seoul Yongwon Elementary School (until 4th grade), he continued his education at Hyangnam Middle and High School before joining the Dong-ah Institute of Media and Arts. Passionate about music, he later enrolled at Hanyang University Future Talent Education Center for practical music (K-pop major) and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Business Administration at Anyang University.

Jeonghan joined Pledis Entertainment as a trainee for 2 years and 2 months before officially debuting with SEVENTEEN on May 26, 2015. From the start, he established himself as one of the group's most versatile members, combining remarkable vocal skills with a magnetic stage presence.
